WATER WALKING

Water Walking is an excellent low-impact fitness program that allows participants to enjoy the benefits of exercise while minimizing stress on the joints and muscles. Conducted in the supportive environment of the YMCA pool, this class uses the natural resistance of the water to help improve cardiovascular health, muscular endurance, balance, and flexibility. Participants can enjoy a challenging workout while experiencing the comfort and support that only water-based exercise can provide.

The buoyancy of the water makes Water Walking especially beneficial for older adults, individuals recovering from injuries, and anyone seeking a gentle yet effective form of exercise. Walking in water helps reduce impact on knees, hips, and other joints while providing natural resistance that strengthens muscles and improves overall fitness. Participants often find that they can move more comfortably in the water than on land, making exercise both enjoyable and accessible.
