GENERAL INFORMATION

The Eberly Family Fitness Center at the Uniontown Area "Y" has everything you need to get fit and have fun doing it.

  • Cardiovascular Equipment
    13 Lifefitness treadmills, 5 Precor Ellipticals, 4 Stairmaster Steppers, 4 Stairmaster Stepmills, 4 Upright Lifecycle, 2 Schwinn Airdyne Bikes, 2 Nu Steps and 3 Life Fitness Ellipical Cross Trainers, Concept2 Rower and 1 Lifefitness Summit Trainer.
  • Selectorized Strength Machines
    Leg Press, Leg Extension, Leg Curl, Seated Leg Curl, Standing Calf Machine, Abdominal Crunch, Ab Curl, Rotary Torso, Bench Press, Incline Bench Press, Pec Dec/Rear Deltoid, Overhead Press, Lateral Shoulder, Lateral Pulldown, Seated Row, Bicep Curl, Tricep Extension, Ab/Abductor, 8 Station Cable Crossover, Assisted Chin/Dip Machine, and Tricep Press Down and 4-Way Neck Machine.
  • Free Weight / Plate Loaded
    2 Olympic Flat Benches Plate Loaded, 1 Olympic Incline Bench Leg Curl, 1 Olympic Decline Bench, 3 Adjustable Benches, 2 Smith Machines, 4 Olympic Bar, 1 EZ Curl Bicep Curl, 10 Degree Chest Machine, Dumbbells 5-130 lbs. (in 5 lb. increments). Leg Press, Total Chest, Plate Loaded Bench Press, Plate Loaded Overhead Press, Plate Loaded Bicep Curl, Plate Loaded Tricep Extension, Plate Loaded Leg Extension, Hack Squat machine, Free Weight Squat Rack and Iso-Lateral Row.

Wellness Center Policies

  1. Facilities require participants to be 14 years of age.
  2. No food or drink is permitted in either area.
  3. Shirts and shoes must be worn in both areas.
  4. Please bring a towel to wipe off machines after using.
  5. Instruction and orientation for all equipment is required before use.
  6. Members should not attempt squats, bench presses or overhead press without a spotter in the free weight room.
  7. Put all weights, dumbbells, and bars back in their proper location after using them.
  8. Do not drop or throw dumbbells when using them. This could be dangerous to you and others who use the dumbbells.
  9. No gym bags allowed in wellness center.
  10. No offensive language or pictures permitted on clothing (discretion of YMCA staff).
  11. Profanity and offensive language is not permitted. It is recommended that all people starting a workout program and using the YMCA fitness facilities consult their physician before beginning. Anyone who has or had any of the following conditions: heart attack, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy, or major surgery must get written clearance from their physician before starting a workout program.
  12. Pants/shorts must be secured at the waist.

Member Orientation - FREE

It is recommended that all members go through an orientation before using the equipment. Orientations involve learning proper technique and procedures for using the selectionized strength equipment and cardiovascular machines. The basics for a general fitness program will also be covered.

You may sign up for an orientation at the front desk. If you cannot sign up for the times listed at the front desk, please leave a message at the front desk for Bill Poninsky.

Exercise Assistants

The YMCA will have exercise assistants available at certain times to provide assistance, answer questions and keep the fitness center area orderly. The exercise assistants will be on duty during the times listed below:

  • Mondays: 10AM-12 Noon & 4:30PM-7:30PM
  • Tuesdays: 5:00PM-9:00PM
  • Wednesdays: 10AM-12 Noon & 4:30PM-7:30PM
  • Thursdays: 5:00PM-9:00PM

Personal Training

Personal training involves having a trainer work with you on a one to one basis.

Personal training is for:

  1. Those who want free weight exercise instruction.
  2. Those who want and / or need exercise programs designed for them.
  3. Athletes desiring specialized programs.
  4. Those who need someone to help them work out on a regular basis

Personal Trainer Fees

  • One person per hour $25.00
  • Two people per hour $15.00 per person
  • Three people per hour $13.00 per person
  • Four people per hour $10.00 per person

Please note that if more than one person is doing the workouts, the people need to follow the same or similar programs.

Fitness Testing

The fitness testing program involves fitness tests for cardiovascular, strength / muscle endurance, flexibility, and body composition or percent bodyfat. The testing procedure:

  1. Shows what areas the person needs to work on.
  2. Gives baseline scores you can measure your progress with.
  3. Helps in setting goals.
