WHAT IS ENDOWMENT?

The Endowment Fund was formed many years ago by a group of persons who looked into the future and saw the need to assist the YMCA financially to ensure its presence in Fayette County for years to come.
The Endowment Fund has specific areas in which you can designate your gift to be utilized.

Some of these areas are:

Unrestricted Fund
These Funds will be used at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

Youth - Scholarship Endowment
Up to 100% of the earnings from this Fund is used to provide financial assistance to needy youth and families. Currently, we utilize this Fund and other contributions to supply 414 persons with YMCA memberships they normally could not afford.

Building Fund
A contribution to this area would be used for any new buildings or any additions to the current building or grounds.

General Endowment Fund
Up to 100% of the earnings from this Fund is used for any capital improvements to the building. Items such as boilers, roofs, and other major purchases that the operating budget cannot fund.

Education Training Fund
This Fund enables the staff to receive current training for YMCA related items.

A DONOR MAY DESIGNATE OR RESTRICT THEIR GIFT FOR A SPECIFIC OR SPECIAL PURPOSE.
