Youth Development

YMCA Dance

This dance program will focus on learning and developing dance skills in a fun, active, and non–competitive environment. Classes are taught by Amber Hildock. Ms. Hildock has been involved in dance since the age of 3. She has a great resume of dance experience as a dancer and teacher. Amber competed and won many dance awards in regional and national competitions.

Classes will be held on Thursdays:
Ages 3-5: 5:30–6:00 PM Ballet/Jazz
Ages 6-11: 6:00-6:45 PM Tap Dance

Session dates: July 6 – August 24, 2017

Registration Begins: two weeks before each session

Program Fees:
Ages 3-5 Member $24 Potential Member $48
Ages 6-14 Member $40 Potential Member $64

Tap Shoes will be needed for the ages 6-11 tap class.
They can be purchased at Payless or the Barre Room.


 

T-Ball

Develop T-ball skills in a fun, positive, and low stress environment. Players develop their skills through drills, practice, and low pressure scrimmages.
Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 – 6:30 PM

Basketball Camp

Camp is open to Youth Grades 4 – 8 in the 2016-2017 school year.

Camp is open to youth in grades K – 8 during the 2016 – 2017 school year.

Registration begins: May 15, 2017
Program days: Monday through Thursday 1:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Dates: June 26, 2017, through June 29, 2017
Program Fees: Members: $55 Potential Members: $65
Develop basketball skills in a fun, positive, and low stress environment.

The camp will be conducted by Rob Kezmarsky. Coach Kezmarsky is the head coach at Uniontown Area High School. Rob has won 226 games, 8 section titles, and 1 WPIAL in 1990 with a 35.7 point per game average. He was the sixth leading scorer in the country that year and holds the record for most consecutive foul shots made (52). Rob Kezmarsky brings enthusiasm, energy, and knowledge to his basketball camps.


Youth Golf Program

A program that gives youth ages 10-18 the opportunity to play 9 holes of golf at Springdale on a weekly basis. The golfers can work on their game, build friendships, and have fun. Although this program is not an instructional program, the program will be supervised by a course monitor who will give tips and advice.

Additional weekly greens fee will be paid to Springdale.


Cheerleading Program

Instruction in basic tumbling, cheers, chants, and balances, along with developing cheerleading skills.

Participants will cheer for YMCA sports events and participate in community events and parades.

Summer Session: June 17 – August 5, 2017

Summer Day Camp

Join the YMCA for a fun and active summer. Both the Grade School (completed Kindergarten through 5th Grade) and the Teen Camp (6th-8th grade) will provide recreation, swimming, sports, games, contests, guest speakers, craft projects, and field trips.

Monday through Friday 7 AM to 6 PM
Tentative Dates: June 5, 2017 – August 18, 2017

Fees: One time Registration Fee is $30 per child

The YMCA Summer Day Camp is a fun and active program that helps the campers develop a healthy spirit, mind and body while promoting the character traits of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Sports Prep

Ages 12-18 years of age.

This sport prep program will help the athlete learn, practice, and participate in drills and exercises designed to improve their athletic ability, fitness level, and sports performance. The athletes will participate in the following.

  1. Speed, quickness and agility drills
  2. Strength and power exercise
  3. Warm-up and flexibility exercise
  4. Conditioning and fitness building activies

Program Fees: Members: $30 / 4 week Session
Potential Member: $50/ 4 week Session

Volleyball Camp

Camp is open to Youth Grades 4 – 8 in 2016-2017 school year.

Develop and improve volleyball skills to prepare players for their volleyball season. The players will practice a variety of drills and participate in scrimmages to enhance their volleyball skills.

Ashley Shoemaker will be conducting the camp. Ms. Shoemaker has been the lead volleyball coach at the Carmichaels High School and the Quest Volleyball Club for 9 years and played at California University of PA.

Monday through Thursday 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Program Fees: Members $45 Potential Members $65
Program dates July 24 through July 27, 2017


Female Volleyball League

A fun competitive league for high school. There will be 2 divisions.

Jr Varsity: For players entering grades 9-11 in the 2017-2018 school year
Varsity Division: For players entering grades 9-12 in the 2017-2018 school year

Program Fees: $160.00 for each team plus an individual fee
Individual Fee: Members: $12.00 Potential Members: $15.00

Team Fee: $160.00

Games held on Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM starting on Wednesday June 7, 2017.
